I work as an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Prior to starting academic career, I worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute of World Economy and Politics, a think-tank advising the Kazakhstan’s Government on international politics, and as a Senior Associate at the IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates.
My research interests include national identity and language policies, theories of nationalism, and current political developments and governance in Central Asia.
